在该片断中，女主和她妈妈之间有这么一段对话：
– She yelled for help.
– She yelled for help? What were you doing to her?
– Nothing! Why would you assume I was?
– OK, OK, don’t jump down my throat.
这里的jump down my throat是什么意思呢？
但是，这是个英语习语：jump down one’s throat。固然，它不是真的表现“跳进我的喉咙里”，而是“对我大呼大呼”的意思，也可以表现“很生或人的气”。
如：
I heard you. There’s no need to jump down my throat.
我听到了，你没必要对我大呼小叫。
He jumped down my throat when I put forward a different idea.
当我提出不同想法时，他对我十分气愤。
除了外表的习语表达之外，我们还可以用底下这些说法来表达“大呼小叫”：
yell at sb.
exclaim / shout at sb.
scream at sb.
holler at sb.
rave at sb.
别的，英语中也有不少有关throat的习语，好比：
1）be at each other’s throats
表现“(两个以上的人或群体等) 打斗打斗；剧烈争辩；吵架”，如：
The idea that Billy and I are at each other’s throats couldn’t be further from the truth.
以为我和比利斗得你死我活的想法真是大错特错。
2）cut one’s own throat
表现“（尤指气愤和要侵害于人时）自食恶果，卡本人的脖子，自寻死路”，如：
It’s cutting your own throat to be so careless.
你这么大意大意是在害本人。
3）force/thrust/ram sth down sb’s throat
表现“强加于人；欺压承受（看法）”，如：
It’s a mistake to force your own ideas down his throat.
你把本人的想法强加于他是错误的。
4）clear one’s throat
表现“清喉咙；清嗓子”，如：
When the bell rang, she would stand up and clear her throat.
当铃一响，她就站起来，同时清清她的喉咙。
5）have a frog in one’s throat
表现“（暂且）失音，嗓音嘶哑”，如：
She speaks as if there were a frog in her throat.
她语言声响很嘶哑。
6）have a lump in one’s throat
表现“（因恼怒或心情冲动而）喉咙哽住，呜咽”，如：
He had a lump in his throat as he said goodbye to his girlfriend at the airport.
当他在机场分别女友时，他呜咽了。
